The opening date for a major grocery store at Glasgow Airport has been announced – and it’s not long

GREGGS will be opening a brand new Scottish store – and foodies won’t have to wait long.

And now the opening date for the restaurant has been announced.

The new sit-in and take-away location will be housed in the former Mozzo cafe next to international arrivals, meaning even those just picking up friends and family can satisfy their sweet or savory cravings.

With enough space to seat 50, the new venue will also have an outdoor area where customers can enjoy an alfresco bite or a quick coffee before or after their flight.

When the bakery giant moves in, 20 new jobs will be created.

Glasgow Airport announced the opening date on its Instagram, which is April 4th.

They said: “This is not an April Fool’s joke, Greggs at Glasgow Airport will officially open on Tuesday 4th April.

“Who’s in the mood for a sausage roll now?”

Greggs previously had a small presence at the airport until the venue closed in 2010.

Ronald Leitch, Operations Director at Glasgow Airport said: “I am really looking forward to welcoming Greggs back to the terminal.

“I have no doubt that it will not only be very popular with our passengers, but also with the thousands of people who are employed throughout our airport
Campus.

“We expect to welcome an additional million passengers this year as we continue our recovery, so the launch of a popular retailer like Greggs is fantastic news. Roll on April!”

Gillian Long, Retail Operations Director at Greggs, said: “We are delighted to be opening a store at Glasgow Airport in the coming months, bringing local jobs to the area and offering customers a modern, convenient new place to shop Favorites can experience Greggs food before taking to the skies.”
