Officers stormed the Thames & Kennet Marina near Reading around 10.30am on Saturday after reports of a body in the water.
Special teams were called to retrieve the woman, who was then taken to the morgue at the nearby Royal Berkshire Hospital.
The woman has not been officially identified, but her family has been informed.
Her death is being treated as unexplained.
A Thames Valley Police spokesman said: “A man has been arrested in connection with the investigation but he has now been released with no further action required.
“We would like to thank the local community for their patience and understanding while we investigate the circumstances.
“Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the late woman.”
The scene of the woman’s death in the marina is remote and far from public areas.
A police cordon at the scene included a narrow boat moored to a jetty.
No one at the Henley Road marina was ready to comment on Saturday’s incident and police raised the cordon to prevent others from reaching the scene.
But one boat resident, who declined to give his name, said: “This is a very tragic incident and it is not my place to speak.
“Police with scene detectives in their hazmat suits have been here all afternoon.
“The woman’s body was taken away in a private ambulance. It is very worrying for everyone involved with the marina.
An autopsy of the body was to take place on Sunday to determine how the woman died.
If you have any information about the incident you can contact Thames Valley Police either online or by phone on 101 and quote incident number 709.
