The leaked new Arsenal kit for next season is reminiscent of the Nike kit made famous by club legends Ian Wright and Tony Adams

The first images of Arsenal’s home kit for next season have surfaced online and it appears to be a throwback to a ’90s streak they wore.

The adidas stripe features a white button-up collar with a red chevron pattern that was a feature of the Gunners stripes in the 80s and 90s.

Eagle-eyed fans might notice that the chevrons resemble designs on a famous jersey worn in the 1994/95 season.

But the kit, sponsored by Nike, was made famous back then in a rather hilarious way by club legends Ian Wright and Tony Adams.

The pair were pictured in a giant version of the kit, something you would be very unlikely to see these days.

Arsenal fans will be hoping for the side to wear this new kit in the Champions League, with Mikel Arteta’s men well in the hunt to finish in the top four.

They cemented their chances of qualifying for Europe’s elite club competition with a 1-0 win at Aston Villa at the weekend.

The result sees Arsenal tighten their grip on fourth place as they sit four points clear of fifth-placed Manchester United while also having a game in hand against the Red Devils.

And Gunners boss hailed the win as Arsenal suffered a defeat at the hands of title challengers Liverpool three days earlier.

“It was a great win,” said Arteta.

“After the Liverpool defeat we wanted to come here and play well first, which we did and get the three points because we want to keep the momentum.

“I think the team showed a lot of personality today to come and play the way we played. We dominated the game.”
