The hip hop fashion and music fair returns to Long Beach – Orange County Register

Long Beach once again becomes the center of fashion music fans when ComplexCon returns to the Long Beach Convention Center.

The event, which will take place on November 19-20, is organized by Complex, an online magazine and media company covering pop culture, music, sports and sneaker culture with a focus on hip-hop music and culture.

ComplexCon is a hybrid of a state-of-the-art mall and hip-hop festival, where guests can shop for shoes, clothing, hats and other fashion items, with a live concert at the end of the weekend.

The event, which first kicked off in Long Beach in 2016, returned to an in-person experience last year after hosting a virtual ComplexCon in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Here’s what you need to know before attending ComplexCon this weekend.

The fashion

ComplexCon is where people come to find out what’s next in fashion. Dozens of pop-up stores have lined up for the weekend, selling their latest products and special collaborations. Fans can also expect surprise drops with items that have not yet been revealed to the public. According to the ComplexCon website, some of the retailers will be there this year: Nike, Human Made, Awake NY, Victor Victor, Billionaire Boys Club, Converse and Crocs.

There could also be some fashion debate at Saturday’s Sneaker of the Year panel, when sneaker heads like DJ Clark Kent join rappers Jadakiss and Jim Jones and others to discuss their picks for the best sneaker of 2022. ComplexCon usually also attracts fashion-forward celebs. In recent years artists like Offset, Rihanna, Vince Staples and Wiz Khalifa have been spotted shopping at the convention.
