CHICAGO – This year marked the 50th anniversary of Title IX, a law that provided athletic opportunities to millions of girls and young women across the country.
Studies have found that girls who play sports are more likely to get better grades, graduate and have higher self-esteem.
But a recent study of Chicago’s West Side shows that more needs to be done.
