The first freezing autumn temperatures are coming tonight

FORT WAYNE, Indiana (WANE) — The entire area is under a freeze/freeze alert of sorts early Saturday morning as low temperatures hover around 32°.

The coldest autumn morning yet brings Freeze/Freeze Warnings across the region.

A freeze warning is in effect for the entire area from 2:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Saturday, with the exception of Kosciusko and Wabash counties, where freeze warnings will go into effect during the same period. Temperatures will be slightly higher in these two counties.

Morning temperatures drop to below freezing.

Temperatures at all locations will be low enough to damage sensitive plants. Please remember to cover your plants with a cloth or bring them indoors tonight if you want to protect them from the cold.

Also ensure that outdoor water lines and underground sprinkler systems are drained to reduce the risk of burst pipes.

More frost is possible from Saturday night through Sunday, so be prepared to bring the plants back in or cover them then.

On Sunday morning it will be a little warmer than on Saturday morning. However, it will still be cold until areas of frost develop. The first freezing autumn temperatures are coming tonight
