The final mile of the inaugural Fort4Fitness race brings hundreds to Parkview Field

FORT WAYNE, Indiana (WANE) – The last mile of The Kit’s Club and Silver Fox Club’s Fort4Fitness took place Friday night.

Children ages 4 to 14 and adults over 50 completed their summer programs with the last mile around Parkview Field.

The race started outside the park and ended on home plate. All participants received a medal.

The goal is for everyone to cover a total of 26.2 miles throughout the summer to keep them active.

The children were very excited to take part in the event.

“I just love to run and I run all the time,” said Emma Ravenscroft.

Jonathan Hillyer agrees it’s a fun event.

“I don’t know why, but I just do it. I like going outside, I think, and I like the stadium,” Hillyer said.
