- The cold front moves across the IL/WI boundary around noon and reaches far south of Chicago around 6pm
- North Chicago – Temps in the 70’s through late morning, dropping through the 60’s/50’s into the 40’s
- Southern Section – Temps fall from the early afternoon 70’s through the 60’s to the 50’s
- NNE wind 15 to 30 mph
- Clouds and a few scattered showers possible, especially near Lake Michigan

- Cold front passage around 2 p.m. – wind shifts from SW to NNE
- Temps rise to low 70s before the front, steady drop in temps after the frontal passage.

Friday set-up: Chicago bathed in cold air from Northern Canada
- The N Current pulls cold air from northern Canada into the Great Lakes/Chicago area
- Warm air pushed farther south—from the Rocky Mountains to the Gulf Coast states
