The Chicago Bar was voted one of the top 50 in the world

If you want to have a drink in one of the best bars in the world, you don’t have to leave Chicago.

Kumiko’s West Loop is 25th on the The 50 best bars in the world Annual list, one of the most prestigious in the world.

It’s the first Chicago facility to make the top 50 since 2018.

Also opening this year is this intimate Japanese dining bar on the corner of Lake and Desplaines, offering visitors a unique drinking and dining experience.

Owner Julia Momosé, who is also a mixologist, channels the flavors of her Japanese-American heritage to the menu, combining ingredients and techniques to pair cocktails with bite-sized dishes dubbed “small luxuries.”

This summer, Momosé won Michelin’s 2022 Exceptional Cocktails Award at the James Beard Awards for her book, The Way of the Cocktail.

An academy of more than 650 anonymous beverage lovers from around the world chose the winner for the 14th edition of the award. Paradiso in Barcelona was voted the best bar in the world, followed by Tayēr + Elementary in London and Sips in Barcelona.
