The burned body of a man was discovered while searching for a missing pensioner

A BODY was pulled from a burn in a search for a missing pensioner.

The tragic find was made at Mile Burn in Gourock while searching for missing pensioner Patrick Clark.

The 70-year-old disappeared from Gourouck on January 31.

The body has yet to be officially identified, but his family have been informed of the tragic news.

Police say there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: “At around 12pm on Wednesday 5 April 2023 the body of a man was discovered in Mile Burn, Gourock.

“While awaiting formal identification, the family of Patrick Clark, 70, who has been missing from the Gourock area since Tuesday 31 January 2023, has been notified.

“There do not appear to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding his death and a report will be submitted to prosecutors.”
