BATTLE CREEK, Mich. (WOOD) – Firefighters used a motor and a boat to help get a truck out of the Battle Creek River after it made a swerve to miss a deer Saturday morning.

Said the fire department The truck swerved to avoid hitting a deer and crashed on Bridgen Drive near Emmet Street in Battle Creek. The truck drove into the river and began to sink.

Battle Creek Police and Fire Department deployed Locomotive 2, two squads and a boat to help a towing company retrieve the truck from the river.
