The BBC’s flagship football program will last just 20 minutes tonight, with no commentary or analysis, after all the talent pulled out of the show in solidarity with Gary Lineker.

Ian Wright was the first to side with the former England and Leicester striker after he was sacked from his role as MOTD presenter over his criticism of the government on social media.

The BBC made the decision on Friday, taking offense at Lineker, who has criticized the UK government for its new asylum seekers policy, with the 62-year-old comparing the language of the bill to the language of 1930s Germany.

Alan Shearer next announced he would not be appearing, leaving the BBC to assemble a team without their key trio, only for Alex Scott, Jermaine Jenas, Mark Chapman and others to follow suit.

Their regular commentators then told the BBC they would not be contributing that weekend either, leaving them no choice but to broadcast a stripped-down show.

Don’t worry though, because talkSPORT has you covered, and we even sent Alan Brazil to the beeb to help them out (sort of).

Having slacked off on Saturday after the bulk of Radio 5 Live’s football coverage was eliminated, we have altered our Saturday night schedule to allow the football-loving British public to get the Premier League analysis show they deserve.

At 10:30 p.m. talkSPORT will bring you the “game of the day”.

We’ve dissected, analyzed and comprehensively covered every single Premier League game… with a cheeky talkSPORT twist.

These include our live commentary games Bournemouth v Liverpool and Tottenham v Nottingham Forest.

Sam Matterface and Scott Minto were talkSPORT commentators on Bournemouth vs Liverpool and will also be hosting tonight's show

And of course there will be no censorship of opinion on our airwaves…not with Simon Jordan in the house.

The show is hosted by Sam Matterface, with expert input from ex-Chelsea men Jason Cundy and Scott Minto.

Tune in to talkSPORT tonight from 10:30pm for ‘Match of the Day’ as we look back at tonight’s Premier League action.

Listen to DAB, the TalkSPORT APP, ask your smart speaker to play TalkSPORT, or watch live on the TalkSPORT YouTube page.
