Taco Bell is asking customers which menu item to bring back next – Orange County Register

After Taco Bell’s wild ride that brought back Mexican pizza in 2022, the Irvine-based fast-food chain is trying to see if it can squeeze even more out of other retired menu items.
Taco Bell is asking loyal customers what they’d rather see on menus by the end of the year: the double decker taco or the enchirito.
The contest on Taco Bell’s app “puts the power of decision in the hands of its most loyal fans for the first time in the brand’s history,” according to a press release.
The Double Decker Taco is a soft flour tortilla with beans wrapped around a beef taco with a crispy shell. Introduced as a limited-time menu item in 1995, it was added to the permanent menu in 2006 before being phased out in 2019, according to the company.
The enchirito is a mix of beef and beans wrapped in a soft flour tortilla and drenched in red sauce. It was introduced back in 1970 but withdrawn in 2013.
Fans have until October 6, and the results will be announced on October 7, according to the press release.
To vote, customers must download the Taco Bell app and sign up for the chain’s loyalty program. You get one vote per day.
The winner will be brought back for a limited time.
