Suspect leads deputies in high-speed chase with baby in vehicle, says Adams County Sheriff’s Office – CBS Denver
ADAMS COUNTY, Colorado (CBS4) – A police chase ended Wednesday night in Adams County near 112th Avenue and Highway 85. The sheriff’s office says it all started at 80th Avenue and Federal Boulevard.
MPs were trying to stop a vehicle at the original location when the driver started shooting at MPs, they say. One person was arrested while another person fled the scene in a vehicle around 7:10 p.m
A 7-month-old child was in the vehicle.
At this point, deputies were tracking the suspect on Highway 36, Interstates 25 and 70, and even on Denver International Airport property. Sheriff’s officers believe the chase went through some of the drop-off areas and parking lots.
Officials believe the chase exceeded speeds of 100 miles per hour.
The pursuit finally ended around 7:50 p.m. at 112th Avenue and Highway 85.
Details of how the pursuit ended were not clear, but the police arrested one man. Investigators say they are trying to find the child’s family, but officials say they are not hurt.
However, they say no one was hit by any gunshots.
Brighton Police say Highway 85 is closed southbound between 124th and 112th Avenues.
