Study shows average penis size is increasing

A study found that the average penis size has increased over the past three decades.

Researchers at Stanford Medical School took data from 75 studies reporting penis length between 1942 and 2021 involving 55,761 people.

Their report, published Feb. 14, found a 24 percent increase in the average length of an erect penis over a 29-year period.

However, medical doctor and professor of urology Michael Eisenberg said he was concerned about declining sperm quality and testosterone levels.

In a blog, Professor Eisenberg said the study shows something powerful could be happening to our hormones.

“What we found was very different from trends in other areas of male fertility and health. The length of the erect penis is increasing from an average of 4.8 inches to 6 inches over the past 29 years,” Eisenberg said.

“When we see such a rapid change, it means something powerful is happening to our bodies. We should try to confirm these results, and if they are confirmed, we need to determine the cause of these changes.”

Pesticides and chemicals could be responsible for penis size increase

Interestingly, the changes in length below the belt could be due to things like humankind’s exposure to pesticides and chemicals commonly found in everyday hygiene products.

According to Eisenberg, chemicals from these sources could disrupt hormone levels in our bodies. The professor suggests that exposure to the chemicals could cause children to go through puberty at a younger age, affecting genital development.

While some around the world might rejoice at the news that average penis size is increasing, Eisenberg added that it’s important to monitor significant changes, and doctors should measure penises more regularly.

“The way we measure height and weight every year in the US, this is something different that we could measure systematically because it could turn out to be a leading indicator of changes in human development,” Eisenberg said.
