In many ways Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order was the perfect game to live out your Jedi fantasies, but there was one thing missing; a sense of realistic lightsaber combat.

Do you see, war of stars Fans don’t just want to wave a stick around. They want their lightsaber to actually have the implication of the world’s deadliest weapon crushing it. A weapon that can cut through any surface, most easily through flesh. Respawn Entertainment played it safe in the first part, and while you could enjoy dismembering droids or other non-human creatures in the game, the stormtroopers were a different matter.

As a result, fighting these mobs didn’t feel as satisfying as it should. It’s not that we take morbid pleasure in chopping off body parts and leaving a streaky yellow tint in their place. This has more to do with being realistic and immersive or, as mentioned, really feeling like a Jedi.

Thankfully, Disney appears to have finally relaxed its censorship laws Star Wars Jedi: Survivorwith the sequel finally allowing you to get absolutely mad at those poor stormtroopers.

That doesn’t necessarily mean combat will be fluid enough to fully immerse you, but it’s definitely a step forward. If fans had their way, they’d include a realistic mode where you could one-hit anyone like a real lightsaber, but with a lot less HP to make up for it.

Let’s not forget Cal’s most important tool: will there be enough ponchos?

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor Premiered April 28th on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and Windows.
