Squid Game’s Hwang Dong-Hyuk Teases Next ‘Violent’ Project

Squid Game Creator Hwang Dong-HYay is working on his next feature film, and this time he promises even more violence than the hit Netflix series.
During a conversation As a Keynote speaker for MipTV at an international Cannes Series Writers ClubHawang The “controversial film” is set to be shared “be more violent than squid game.”
Per diversity, The working title of the project is KO clubor Killing Old People Club. In keeping with the title, we can surmise that the film will feature some gruesome and graphic scenes of elderly people being murdered. It can be so intense that Hwang joked that he may have to hide from old people for a while after the film airs.
Hwang reportedly wrote a 25-page treatment for the film on which it is based the work of the Italian writer Umberto Eco. For now, the director-writer says he’s returning to South Korea to start working on the second season from squid game, which is expected to arrive towards the end of 2024. A few weeks ago, Hwang shared some sleek details about that the progress of the coming season.
“There will be more great games to come, that’s all I can say.” said Hwang. “I’m just brainstorming and collecting ideas for the second season. I haven’t even started writing yet.”
The director also took his time Speech of the keynote speaker at the Cannes Series Writer’s Club to commemorate an appreciated compliment Steven Spielberg paid him after the premiere of Squid Game.
“Steven Spielberg said to me, ‘I watched your whole show in three days and now I want to steal your brains!'” says the Netflix showrunner. “That was the greatest compliment I’ve ever received in my life for being my movie hero. I grew up watching his films.”
