SPFL Premiership top scorers: Van Veen finishes in the top two as Kyogo and Shankland gap in the Golden Boot race

KYOGO FURUHASHI is still at the top of the race to be the top scorer in the Scottish Premiership this season.
But Lawrence Shankland and Kevin Van Veen have both grown closer to the Celtic frontman after meeting over the weekend.

A 2-0 win at Ross County secured the Hoops a nine-point lead at the top of the league.
But talisman Kyogo failed to score for the second game in a row and missed a huge chance in the first half, with the goal seemingly wide in front of him.
Hearts lost 2-1 to Kilmarnock despite Shankland taking the lead with their 18th goal of the season.
And Motherwell allayed relegation fears with a superb 3-1 win at Hibs, with Kevin Van Veen scoring two goals to overtake Aberdeen’s Bojan Miovski.

Kyogo’s tally of 20 Premiership goals now puts him two ahead of Shankland, while Van Veen is just a few further behind at 16.
Miovski is a goal behind with James Tavernier, Duk and Antonio Colak all at 13.
However, Kyogo’s price can still lose, and he’s still the leader of the standings as we enter the closing stages of the campaign.
Odsonne Edouard, Alfredo Morelos, Kris Boyd and Liam Boyce are among the forwards who have received the award in recent years.
Who are the favorites to win the Scottish Premiership Golden Boot?
At the top of the leaderboard are Celtic favorite Kyogo and Hearts hero Shankland.
As mentioned, Kyogo leads with 20 goals from the Celtic favourite.
Shankland is now third on 18 with Van Veen on 16 goals.
