Spectrum, Beaumont announces new name: Corewell Health

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) – The recently formed scheme Beaumont Health and Spectrum Health has announced its new name.

Nine months after the merger, the healthcare system was down BHSH system. On Tuesday it was announced that the health system would be officially called Corewell Health.

“At our core, we are here to help people thrive so they can live the healthiest lives possible,” said Tina Freese Decker, President and CEO of Corewell, in a press release. “We recognize the amazing results and history of Beaumont Health and Spectrum Health. Now we are moving forward together, known as Corewell Health, focused on health and wellness for all. The choice of name is particularly inspirational as it was influenced by thousands of ideas from our team members who put health and well-being at the heart of everything we do.”

The merger of Spectrum Health, based in Grand Rapids, and Beaumont Health in the southeastern state became official in February.

Corewell Health plans to adopt the new name, including signage, soon and phase it out over the next two years.
