Dublin Airport The fire department responded to the incident and the passengers exited the aircraft normally after the airport fire officer gave the all-clear.

A spokesman for Dublin Airport operator daa said on Sunday: “Dublin Airport has been declared a full emergency this afternoon following the arrival of Ryanair flight FR5542 from LPL_Airport.

“The passengers got off the plane normally.

“Air traffic to Dublin Airport was restricted during the incident.”

There were no initial reports of injuries, however one passenger was treated for shock.

Aircraft arrivals at Dublin Airport were suspended during the incident and the airport’s southern runway remained closed for the evening.

National Ambulance Service staff and paramedics met the passengers upon their arrival at the terminal.

A statement on Twitter continued: “This is now an aircraft salvage incident.

“There are no reports of injuries although 1 person was treated for shock.

“National Ambulance Service staff met the passengers upon their arrival.

“The south runway remains closed and the north runway is operational tonight due to the emergency.”

A Ryanair spokesman said: “This flight from Liverpool to Dublin experienced a small technical issue with the nose gear on landing.

“Passengers and crew disembarked normally and the aircraft will shortly be towed back to the hangar for further inspection by Ryanair engineers.”

A passenger on the flight told the Irish Sun that the landing was “tough” and the plane appeared “out of control” after trying to brake.

“Happened So Fast”

They said: “The landing was really hard. The aircraft appeared to spin slightly after the brakes were applied.

“At one point I had a feeling that the plane was about to tip over, then it veered off the runway and stopped.

“It all happened so quickly that it took me a few moments to realize what had happened.

“There was enough time between landing and turning off the runway to tell the guy next to me that the landing was really hard.

“At first I thought it must be very windy because the plane swerved so much.”

The emergency comes as Dublin Airport expects 485,000 passengers to pass through its gates over the Easter weekend.
