Sir Jim Ratcliffe is expected at Old Trafford for Man Utd presentation

The club’s owners, the Glazer family, announced last November they were conducting a strategic review, with selling United being an option.

Qatari banker Sheikh Jassim and INEOS founder Ratcliffe have made bids to buy the club to American merchant banker Raine, who has been brought in to help the club evaluate bids.

Ratcliffe, 70, will fly in from Nice on Thursday and, barring travel complications, attend United’s management team presentation alongside INEOS Sport officials.

Elliott Investment Management has also reportedly reached phase two of the process, though the company is said to be offering financing rather than an acquisition.

The PA news agency understands Elliott representatives were present for last Thursday’s 4-1 Europa League win over Real Betis at Old Trafford.
