She-Hulk Episode 6 reveals why Daredevil hasn’t shown up yet

She-Hulk: Lawyer may mark the debut of Tatiana Maslany’s Jennifer Walters in the MCU, but her character’s appearance isn’t necessarily the one some fans are most looking forward to. Not much is known about his specific role, but Daredevil will be sporting an all-new yellow and red suit inspired by his classic comic book look. Cox will star as both attorney Matt Murdock and superhero Daredevil to help She-Hulk, and there even seems to be a romantic spark.

The Man Without Fear has starred in three seasons of his own Netflix series and has acted as Peter Parker’s attorney Spider-Man: No Way Home, But this is just the beginning. Daredevil will be returning soon She Hulkas well as appearances in echo and Spider-Man: Freshman Year. And on top of that he will also have his own 18 part solo series titled Daredevil: Reborn.

In the opening scene of Episode 6, Jennifer Walters prepares to attend her friend’s wedding as a bridesmaid. During one of her famous fourth wall breaks, Walters reveals that the episode is this week “a self-contained wedding episode” a tan “Bad time of the season” because “This is how weddings are always:”

“Yes, it’s a self-contained wedding suite. And if you think this is happening at a bad time in the season, you’re right. Because that’s how weddings are. But I’m going to look great, so let’s go.”

The line seems to poke fun at fans’ anticipation of Daredevil appearing in Episode 6 alongside She-Hulk, who is finally donning the superhero suit she was given at the end of Episode 5.

Even the title of the episode, “Just Jen,” seems to be a nod to the expectation that Walters wouldn’t be alone, as Daredevil was supposed to be joining this week.

She Hulk Episode 5 ended with Jennifer Walters visiting superhero tailor Luke Jacobson to pick up her custom made suits, leading to the unveiling of Daredevil’s new yellow helmet. The teasing, of course, led most to assume Cox’s Daredevil would join the group the following week.

She-Hulk cameo reference

This isn’t the first time She Hulk has referenced the show’s cameo hype when Walters pointed out in Episode 3 before Wong’s debut that this isn’t a “Cameo-every week” Show that encourages viewers to do so “Remember Whose Show This Is Actually:”

“I know you can’t wait to see Wong, I get it… I just want to make sure you don’t think this is one of those cameo shows that happens every week. It is not. Well, except Bruce. And Blonsky. And Wong. Just remember whose show this is actually is.”

When does Daredevil appear in She-Hulk?

When Daredevil first appeared in the second She Hulk Trailer sees the man without fear in his superhero outfit alongside Jennifer Walters in hers. While Walters received this outfit from Luke Jacobson in episode 5, she has yet to wear it in six episodes.

So far, Walters is still adamantly opposed to becoming a superhero as she remains focused on her legal career. This seems to indicate that Daredevil won’t appear until episode 8 of She Hulkgiving her time to become a superhero and take on her super suit in episode 7 while keeping the final ninth episode to herself so as not to take Walters’ focus away.

This aligns with the mid-season trailer’s hint that Matt Murdock will be instrumental in helping Walters with her superhero transformation when he explained how she can help people both as herself and as She-Hulk, just as he did both in the courtroom and off the streets of Hell’s Kitchen.

“I think you’re in a unique position to do something really good. Jen Walters can use the law to help people when society is failing them. She-Hulk can help people when the law doesn’t allow them to.”

Director Kat Coiro also previously teased that Daredevil will make an appearance “Later in the season” in one “pretty big episode” which seems to indicate it will come towards the end of the story:

“…and without giving too much away, there’s a certain someone who comes along later in the season, and it’s a pretty big episode.”

How the daredevil hype is hurting She-Hulk

Fans have been itching to see Charlie Cox’s Daredevil back in action since his Netflix series ended in 2018, and even more so since Matt Murdock briefly acted as Peter Parker’s attorney Spider-Man: No Way Home. So it’s fair to say its She Hulk The performance is the most anticipated part of the show for many.

With Daredevil only expected to appear in one episode of the Disney+ series, albeit for a starring role, there’s no denying that he’s dominating the discussion more than he should. After all, Walters himself encouraged viewers to do so “Remember whose show this is actually”, and yet much of the weekly discussion revolves around Daredevil.

Simply put, the excitement surrounding Cox’s Daredevil has resulted in a lot of attention being lost She Hulk in their own show. The writers even seem to be leaning on fans’ growing impatience with jokes like the apparent teasing that Daredevil would appear in this week’s episode.

Maybe the smarter move for She Hulk would have been to let Charlie Cox and his superhero out of the trailer altogether and make his arrival a surprise. Although it’s clear why he was revealed early as leaks had already spoiled his role while his inclusion proved powerful for marketing.

Daredevil appears to be at the forefront of Marvel Studios’ plan for Disney+ moving forward with the planned roles echo and Spider-Man: Freshman Year before going solo with an 18-episode season Daredevil: Reborn. Only time will tell if the same issues of the Daredevil hype will hurt series like that echo also.

The first six episodes of She-Hulk: Lawyer are now streaming on Disney+, with new episodes coming to the service every Thursday.
