She-Hulk: Lawyer will feature the much-anticipated return of Charlie Cox’s Daredevil. The character’s comeback has long been the subject of fan debate, particularly after Marvel Studios openly confirmed his involvement.
She HulkThe midseason trailer revealed the first look at Matt Murdock, confirming that the character will not only be appearing as his superhero self, but also as his legal genius. Daredevil’s new helmet was spotted in Episode 5, meaning it’s only a matter of time before the Marvel hero shows up.
Aside from his Disney+ debut, many have theorized that his appearance in She Hulk would at least give a hint of what to expect Daredevil: Rebornsuch as final confirmation of whether the events of the Netflix series are canonical for the MCU.
Now Cox has addressed this mystery in a new interview.
Will She-Hulk create Daredevil: Born Again? Marvel actor responds
Speak with meetingDaredevil actor Charlie Cox was asked if the end of She-Hulk: Lawyer would set up the events of Daredevil: Reborn.
Cox responded by confirming that it will not affect the events of the Disney+ series and saying he believes so “it is in its own moment:”
“I do not believe that. I do not think so. No, no, I think it’s in its own moment.”
In a separate interview with Comicbook’s Phase Zero about Murphy’s Multiverse, Cox admitted that it is “overwhelming” to return as Daredevil and to share that it feels like they made it “Invited to the party we always wanted to be invited to:”
It feels like we’re just getting started here. It’s all overwhelming. It feels like we’ve been invited to the party we’ve always wanted to be invited to. To begin this journey again. To be behind the work that we’ve done, but we’re taking some of that and the experiences that we’ve had and now we’re telling more stories again…it’s like a dream come true.
Meanwhile, during Cox’s chat with The Hollywood Reporter, the Marvel actor revealed that he would love Tatiana Maslany to star in his Disney+ series as She-Hulk:
“So there’s so many people you know like… So I worked with Tatiana… in She-Hulk. She is amazing and we had so much fun together. I loved working with her. It would be so cool if she could return the favor just to return the favor. So that would be really cool.”
Cox also announced that he would be bringing Tom Hiddleston’s Loki to the series, noting that it would be “Cool if he somehow made a little cameo:”
“Tom Hiddleston is one of my best friends. I don’t know how our worlds would ever connect, but it would be cool if he somehow made a little cameo. Even if he just sort of showed up with a tesseract and then it started again, you know?”
Why Daredevil’s She-Hulk appearance benefits Born Again
Charlie Cox’ confirmation about She Hulk not setting up the events of Daredevil: Reborn is a relief as it removes the idea that his appearance is only for his Disney+ series.
Based on footage from She Hulk‘s trailer, Matt Murdock’s presence appears to be what Tatiana Maslany’s Jennifer Walters will need, considering the character’s conflict over becoming a superhero.
While Daredevil’s involvement will not determine what will happen reborn, It’s possible that his collaboration with Walters will at least give him a brand new perspective on being a hero stepping into his Disney+ series. However, this would allow the character to develop in surprising ways when he returns reborn.
While plot details for reborn still being kept under wraps, Cox’s overwhelming response to returning to the role further solidifies his passion for Daredevil, meaning it would effectively translate to his on-screen performance when he returns in his own Disney+ series.
She-Hulk: Lawyer Episode 6 premieres Thursday, September 22nd on Disney+.
