Most people stroll through museums, zoos and the like — but that wasn’t the case on Saturday morning, October 8, at the Aquarium of the Pacific.
The Aquarium of the Pacific 5K Run/Walk, a prelude to Sunday’s Long Beach Marathon, boasted more than 2,000 jogs or strolls along a scenic route – including through the popular aquarium.
The route took participants through Rainbow Harbor, over the Queensway Bridge, over Catalina Landing and around the Long Beach Aquarium.
The runners and walkers also went through the aquarium, past various exhibits.
Participants received a t-shirt, a finisher’s medal and discounted entry to the aquarium.
However, it was not clear if they were cheered on by the fish, otters and other marine life at the Aquarium of the Pacific.
