The World Championship begins on April 15th at the Crucible in Sheffield.
O’Sullivan defeated Judd Trump 18-13 in last year’s finals to win his seventh title. In doing so, he matched Stephen Hendry’s record total and also became the oldest winner.
His departure from Leicester ended his chances of qualifying for the Duelbits Tour Championship in Hull, which will be played from March 27th to April 2nd.
