Rom-Com or Horror Movie? You probably can’t guess.

Famous men accused of molestation much to say in defense of certain acts previously alleged to have been “romantic” and “charming.” In all honesty, a lot of this behavior has been just plain creepy for a very long time. That’s why my dog and I in our household prefer to watch romantic comedies over outright horror movies during Halloween season, or whenever we’re really feeling like getting scared the shit.
Let’s face it — a lot of classic so-called love stories are scary as shit. Personally, my greatest terror would be a man standing outside my house on a snowy night with messages written on posters, or constantly being confronted by the same man at four weddings and one funeral. Oops!
Conversely, many slasher flicks tend, at least on the surface, to have their own almost perversely romantic qualities. Why could Michael Meyer just never get over Laurie Strode?
To that end, the horror and rom-com genres are almost indistinguishable from one another when the bare bones of their plots are laid out neutrally, devoid of names, details, and context. In fact, I dare you to guess whether each of the following films is based on a horror movie or a romantic comedy – there is almost nothing more terrifying than a man, woman or anyone truly in love!
