Post Malone cancels Boston show after another hospital visit

Even with grills as sparkling as Post Malone’s, not all pain can be solved by grinning and bearing. After a rib injury in a nasty fall on stage Last week in St. Louis, the rapper postponed a show scheduled for September 24 in Boston after ending up in the hospital with “severe pain.”
Malone (full name Austin Richard Post) shared his own statement on Saturday apologized for the abrupt cancellation of the show just minutes after TD Garden (venue of the show) announced the postponement of Malone’s performance due to ‘unforeseen circumstances’. The venue also instructed fans to keep their tickets “for a new date as soon as it is announced.”
Malone begins his message with typical fan-first gratitude, writing, “Boston I love you all so freaking much.”
“When I’m on tour I usually wake up around 4pm and today I was woken up by a cracking noise [sic] on the right side of my body,” Malone shares. “I felt so good last night but today felt so different than before. I find it very difficult to breathe and it’s like a sharp pain when I breathe or move. We are in the hospital now but with this pain I can’t do the show tonight. I’m so damn sorry.”
Malone had been touring for a week (and five stops) prior to the September 17 accident in St. Louis. During the performance, Malone caught his foot in an ajar trap door on stage, causing him to land hard on his back. Malone’s manager shared Instagram post that the rapper was subsequently treated for bruised ribs.
G/O Media may receive a commission
Malone concludes his message by promising to both continue his tour and reschedule the missed date. “I feel terrible, but I promise I’ll make it up to you,” Malone writes. “I love you Boston, see you soon.”
