Police: Victim turns up at hospital after Kalamazoo shooting

KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) – Someone has been taken to the hospital with gunshot wounds after a shooting Friday night in Kalamazoo, police say.

At approximately 5:30 p.m. officers from the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety on Lake Street called Mills Street for reports of gunfire being fired.

While officers were investigating, the victim showed up at a local hospital with two gunshot wounds that were not life-threatening.

Police say the victim is recovering. It is unclear why the shooting happened.
