Police station imposed LOCKDOWN and bomb squad called after fear of explosion

A POLICE station was cordoned off and bomb squad was called after an explosion scare.
West Mercia Police told social media that one of their stations was quickly shut down after a member of the public released a suspected hand grenade.

It wrote on Twitter: “Hereford Police Station is currently closed as a precaution after a member of the public released a suspected hand grenade.
“Explosive Ordnance Disposal has been briefed and is attending the scene to assess the device and ensure it is disposed of safely.
“A cordon has been put in place around the station and it will likely remain in place for some time.
“We want to reassure the public that there is no danger to the wider area or community.”
