Police arrest 10 suspects in connection with the death of a man at the Metro Pudu Complex

KUALA LUMPUR: Police arrested 10 suspects (all male), including two foreigners, here yesterday in connection with the death of a man at Metro Pudu Complex.

Wangsa Maju Police Chief Supt Ashari Abu Samah said the 10 suspects were arrested in and around Kuala Lumpur during an operation conducted from 10:30 p.m Kuala Lumpur headquarters.

According to Ashari, the operation was launched after a report came in at 12.30pm yesterday of the death of a 29-year-old man who was previously attacked outside an entertainment store in Kuala Lumpur’s Metro Pudu Complex.

“The attack is believed to have occurred between 5am and 7am yesterday, resulting in serious head injuries to the victim. The victim was taken to Kuala Lumpur Hospital for treatment but died at 4.40pm yesterday,” he said in a statement today.

Ashari said initial investigations indicated the incident was due to a misunderstanding, but police are still investigating.

According to police, the suspects, aged between 20 and 43, would be remanded in custody to aid investigations under Section 302 of the Criminal Code.
