PinkNews wins at the Digiday Video and TV Awards

PinkNews won the Best Snapchat Show award closet critic and Best Snapchat Shows Producer at the 2023 Digiday Video and TV Awards.

After a year in which PinkNews added nearly 10 million subscribers on Snapchat, on Tuesday (March 7) we were recognized at the prestigious industry awards in two important categories related to the platform.

PinkNews took home the award for Best Snapchat Show for the second year in a row – this time for closet critica spunky weekly runway show launched in 2022 to explore the styles of Gen Z’s favorite stars and their impact on the world.

PinkNews previously won Best Snapchat Show at the 2022 Digiday Video and TV Awards for its flagship LGBTQ+ current affairs show The queer catch-up.

With an ever-growing portfolio of nearly 50 Snapchat shows that continue to fulfill PinkNews’ mission to “inform, inspire and empower,” the publisher was also recognized by Digiday as Best Snapchat Show Producer for 2023 — proof for global brand engagement with Gen Z audiences as the Most Viewed LGBTQ+ Publisher on Snapchat Discover.

As PinkNews Continuing to bring his unique brand of LGBTQ+ programming to millions of audiences via Snapchat, Cohen celebrated the publisher’s addition of foreign language content to the youth-focused platform.

“For PinkNews, Snapchat provides a global stage on which to showcase our content, and we’re excited to begin adding German language content to our roster of English and French shows on the platform this year,” said Cohen.

closet critic was previously highly acclaimed in the Launch/Relaunch of the Year category at the prestigious Professional Publishers Association (PPA) Independent Publisher Awards 2022, where Anthony James, Chief Operating Officer (COO) of PinkNews, was also named Game Changer of the Year.

2022 also saw The queer catch-up honored with the Best Use of Video award at the AOP Digital Publishing Awards, during a ceremony at PinkNews was highly acclaimed for Editorial Team of the Year – Consumers.

Other recent awards include PinkNews Editorial Team of the Year Winners at the Drum Awards for Online Media – which included a panel of judges comprised of digital advertising leaders from CNN, NBCU, Bloomberg, Elle, LinkedIn, Wired UK, The Athletic and Insider – and Winners Video Team of the Year at the Digiday Media Awards 2022.

Elsewhere, PinkNews was named Publisher of the Year at the 2022 Digiday Media Europe Awards and saw its Chief Product Officer, Sarah Watson, accept the award for Publishing Executive of the Year.

Meanwhile, PinkNews Senior Producer Chandni Sembhi was named to the prestigious PPA 30 Under 30 list in September 2022 to celebrate emerging talent in the industry.
