Nieky Holzken is dying to avenge the loss of ONE X

You can’t suppress a man like Nieky Holzken for long.

The Dutch kickboxing legend suffered a bitter defeat at ONE X when he was KO’d by rising newcomer Sinsamut Klinmee in the second round of their encounter. It was his first KO loss since 2010.

On Instagram, he posted a photo of himself working out at the gym with a message expressing his desire to get that loss back. Nieky Holzken wrote:

“I can’t wait to fight @onechampionship. I have to fix something.”

Holzken started his ONE X match by pressuring Klinmee for most of the opening stanza. However, the Thai warrior weathered the storm quite well for a close first round.

In the second, Klinmee found a way to negate Holzken’s distance and slowly pounded on the kickboxing legend. Halfway through the frame, a right flip landed squarely on Holzken’s face, throwing him to the ground. ‘The Natural’ failed to beat the referee’s count and Klinmee was awarded an interruption win.

Fans are happy to see that Holzken is ready to get back out there as they’ve given him encouragement in the comments. A supporter wrote:

“You did, living legend!🔥❤️”

Others believe he will bring punishment upon his return. Another fan said:

“I feel sorry for anyone who gets in your way.”

Nieky Holzken’s rollercoaster experience in ONE Championship

Since arriving on the ONE Championship scene in 2018, Nieky Holzken has experienced a roller coaster of ups and downs.

He announced his arrival in November 2018 with a second-round KO win over Cosmo Alexandre. This was followed by a three-round championship against Mustapha Haida in February 2019.

Three months later, Holzken faced a sizable Regian Eersel for the first ONE Kickboxing World Lightweight title. Eersel emerged as the winner after five rounds. Five months later, the Surinamese-Dutch kickboxer asserted his dominance by defeating Holzken for a second time.

Nieky Holzken bounced back by defeating Elliot Compton in the first round of their December 2020 encounter. He later KO’d John Wayne Parr in the second round to deny the Australian his 100th win in April 2021.

Just when it looked like he was gaining momentum, Holzken’s momentum was cut short by his ONE X loss. However, it doesn’t look like his spirit is broken as he’s already asking to be brought back to action.

If his up-and-down trend continues, Holzken could be headed for another big win in the ONE Championship circle. Nieky Holzken is dying to avenge the loss of ONE X
