Nicki Minaj claims younger women in the music industry “have never experienced hate like I have.”

Nicki Minaj has claimed that young women who are hated in the music industry have nothing but “growing pains” compared to what she’s been through.
Minaj made the comments during an Instagram Live chat with rapper Coi Leray, who collaborated with Minaj on her most recent song “Blick Blick” and is 15 years her junior. During the conversation, Leray mentioned that her success came about in light of the “hate” she received. Minaj criticized this, saying that Leray and “girls” in the music industry “should stop talking about hate.”
“You all have never experienced hatred like I have,” she said. βWhat you all experienced is nothing. You’ve all just experienced some of the growing pains of art and social media. You all think you’ve experienced hate and believe me you haven’t experienced it… people have been gentle.β

After a negative reaction to the conversation, Leray herself came out in Minaj’s defense on Twitter, saying that people who criticized Minaj were “too emotional” and that Minaj’s comments “didn’t offend” her.
You are all too emotional.. Nicki has been through a lot!!! She still stands strong and still drops hits. She basically told me don’t let crazy comments and negative energy stop you because MORE MONEY AND SUCCESS More problems so CRAZY SHIT! πππ

Nicki don’t insult me. I grew up with tough love. When speaking to someone more experienced, always listen. That’s the problem you guys talk a hell of a lot. Regardless of what she says, she’s from a good place.

Minaj then responded to Leray, praising her as a “talented, versatile, unique artist.”
That’s why I gave up my life. I’ve spent time just focusing on HOW I think you are such a talented, versatile, unique artist. I’ve been talking about how your verse keeps going higher and better and how stupid those last 4 bars are to me… how do I know for sure that you are actually WRITING. BUT NO!!!

Aside from ‘Blick Blick’, Minaj has released two new singles so far in 2022: ‘Do We Have A Problem?’ and ‘Bussin’, both featuring Lil Baby.
Leray, meanwhile, is gearing up for the release of her debut album, Coi, in early April.
