Neymar is out for the remainder of the season as the Paris Saint-Germain star has been told he will need surgery for an ankle injury.
The Brazilian striker was in tears after being substituted off against Lille in Ligue 1 on February 19, just days after a 1-0 defeat by Bayern Munich in the Champions League.
And Neymar, already ruled out of the second leg, will now miss the rest of the season.
Neymar is due to undergo surgery, PSG have confirmed, and won’t return to training for up to four months.
It’s a huge blow to Le Parisiens boss Christophe Galtier, whose future may depend on the performance of the French giants in the Champions League.
PSG head to the Allianz Arena and need to come back from a one-goal deficit to finish in the last eight of the competition.
But without one of their key players, that task has become far more difficult.
The challenge came in the 51st minute of PSG’s Ligue 1 clash with Lille in February when Benjamin Andre touched the striker.

Neymar fell and landed awkwardly and received lengthy treatment on the pitch, with TV footage showing he twisted it badly.
He was eventually carried off the stretcher in tears after injuring the same ankle at the World Cup in Qatar with Brazil just months earlier.
An MRI scan showed the former Barcelona star had sprained but not broken his ankle. However, recent testing has shown that it is now much worse than initially thought.
Neymar will now travel to Doha, Qatar to undergo surgery to repair the ligament, but this is becoming a recurring problem for the 31-year-old, who has sustained several serious injuries during his time in Paris.
He has already missed over 100 games for PSG due to injuries while this is the fourth ankle problem he has had since 2020, missing 20 games alone.
Most Ligue 1 games he has played in a season for the Ligue 1 champions is only 22 due to availability issues. This happened last season where he made 28 games in total.
Neymar joined PSG from Barcelona in 2017 after a record-breaking £198million transfer.
Since then he has won four Ligue 1 titles and three Coupes de France but has eluded the Champions League in Paris despite winning one at the Camp Nou in 2015.
