Next Level Chef Season 1 Episode 3: Next Level Italy

Last week saw the first removal on Next level chef as Gary from Team Blais was given his walking papers. Became a chef, Richard Blais and Team Trail Blaisers (groaning) are desperate to go into Episode 3 to avoid sending others to Elimination.
Luckily, Team Blais made it to the Top Level Kitchen and had all the tools at their disposal to tackle this week’s theme: Italy. The chefs had to create Italian dishes from ingredients that were on the platform, which meant a lot of pasta and sauces.
With Team Ramsay in the Mid-level Kitchen and Team Arrington in Basement, the game was opened when the platform started going down through three kitchens.
And it’s clear that while three different kitchens is a challenge, what really confuses chefs is the ingredient background. Again, many chefs either forget to take items from the pedestal or miss out on things that could make great food.
Which team sent a member home in episode 3 of Little Chef King?
Roice and Tricia both forgot to pick up important items for what they were planning to do when somehow a live lobster made its way to the Basement. Angie, a home cook from Texas, was the lucky one to get it off the pedestal.
Of course, she doesn’t know how to cook it or what to do with it, but the details will come later.
For this week’s twist, in the middle of the challenge, the chefs had to add mushrooms to their dishes to some degree. Some chefs have made the most of the added ingredient while others like Pyet have essentially omitted the mushrooms altogether.
In the end, Jonathan left with the victory belonging to Team Blais with a dish of clams and pasta that impressed all 3 judges. Overall Team Blais had a strong performance with Courtney also coming back from being a weak performer and becoming a strong dish.
At the other end are Roice from Team Ramsay and Zachary from Team Arrington. Rocke never recovered from his mistake on the ingredients platform while Zach gave the judges raw pizza dough that was even hard to see.
For the Elimination Challenge, two chefs must make a noodle dish that can be anything but Italian. Both go in the Asian direction with Zach giving a very broad interpretation of Asian noodle dishes and Roice focusing on Thai flavours.
While Zach is a professional chef with years of experience, Roice cooks for fun on his TikTok channel and it shows. The pressure comes on him quickly and you can see the panic start to set in as he tries to finish his dish.
After the judging ended in a tie with Arrington liking Zach’s noodle broth and Ramsay enjoying Roice’s version of Pad Thai, it meant Richard Blais would pick the winner. He ended up sending Roice home, which honestly was the right decision.
Obviously the chefs will have to find the foundation of the ingredients if they hope to win Next level chef. Too many chefs go away without what they need to create a delicious dish and that will cause more and more chefs to return home even though they are good cooks. Let’s see if next week anyone has a breakthrough in composition in Episode 4.
