New World shares the 2022 roadmap and will add a 3v3 arena in the spring

Amazon Game Studios has released a developer roundtable that briefly explores what to expect New world this year – see below.

The hour-long video spends a lot of time covering the Heart Of Madness March update, including a 3v3 PvP arena, expanded PvP rewards, and the new Blunderbuss weapon.

They also talk about the motivations behind Isabella, a character previously encountered in the Dynasty Shipyard Expedition and the focus of the new quest “Stormheart,” a five-player endgame expedition with a recommended character level of 60 and Gear Score of 550 or higher. Check out the video below.

Elsewhere in the video, the team confirms that alongside the launch of an LFG tool for Expeditions and an undisclosed summer event, another new Expedition, the pirate-themed Barnacles and Gunpowder, will launch in the summer.

Then in the fall, around the one-year anniversary of New world, the world map will be expanded to include the Brimstone Sands region, and players will be able to pick up the Greatsword – a new weapon with its own moveset and skill trees. The fall update will also add the Ennead Expedition as well as leaderboards and two events – Nightvale Hallow and Turkulon 2022.

The development team has also confirmed free, unrestricted inventory transfers between storage chests regardless of faction, and announced plans for paid cross-region transfers.

Last year the developers confirmed that they wanted to do it New world better for solo players. New worldScot Lane, Game Director of , said: “We continue to add more quests for the early and mid-level players. New quest types will be added that will help uncover more of the mysteries of Aeternum. We understand that some players may want to focus more on solo gameplay, and we’re doing more to accommodate that through alternate questlines and more solo-assisted gameplay.”

In other news, crucible Developer Stephen Dewhurst shared that “Amazon isn’t a great place to develop games,” revealing that it was “pretty obvious at the time.” crucible would fail in a new interview with NME.

Dewhurst identified several issues with Amazon, saying that “fundamentally [Amazon’s] Leaders have a lot of hubris that stems from having been very successful at a number of things and thinking that their success at those things will lead to success at others when they aren’t remotely similar,” he added: “There’s just a lot of these all-hands that I can remember where executives gave answers that we considered completely wrong at the time.”
