Tesla boss Elon Musk has a 9.2 percent stake in Twitter.
Musk bought about 73.5 million shares, according to a regulatory filing on Monday.
Musk has raised questions about the possibility of free communication on Twitter and tweeted about it last month speak freely and the social media platform.
