It feels like Liverpool star Mohamed Salah has been breaking records almost every week for the past 12 months – and he could surpass another Champions League performance on Tuesday night.
The Reds travel to Portugal to face Benfica in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-finals, continuing their incredible form since the turn of the year.
And Salah, who has surprisingly struggled for his form in recent weeks, is looking to make a name for himself again in Europe.
The Egyptian has scored eight goals in eight Champions League games this season after scoring against Atletico Madrid, AC Milan and Inter Milan.
And if Salah scores more than once at the Estadio da Luz, he would become the first player to score ten goals or more in multiple seasons for Liverpool in the competition.
While he only scored six and five goals last season when they won the 2018/19 competition, he scored ten goals when they reached the final in 2017/18.
The only other player to score double digit goals more than once in a European Cup/Champions League game while playing for an English club is Ruud van Nistelrooy.
The Dutch striker scored ten goals in 2001/02 and 12 in 2002/03 while playing for Manchester United but failed to reach the final on both occasions.

Salah will hope he doesn’t meet the same fate as Van Nistelrooy in those seasons or when he scored ten goals and then injured himself in the final in 2017/18.
But with the quadruple still on the table for Liverpool, it’s hard to believe this will be the last record the striker will break this season.
