Michael Beale on Ranger’s plan and behind-the-scenes trust factor

The Englishman extended his unbeaten run in the Premier League since replacing Giovanni van Bronckhorst as boss with a dominant display against Hibernian on Wednesday night.

A James Tavernier penalty canceled out an unfortunate Connor Goldson own goal and Rangers never looked back at Easter Road.

Antonio Colak put the visitors ahead before the break and then completed the goal after Fashion Sakala scored their second goal in as many games.

Beale stayed with the same starting line-up that defeated Kilmarnock at the weekend and was rewarded with the best performance of his tenure so far.

Rangers are down just two league points before Beale’s clock but their relentless form hasn’t been enough to close the gap on Old Firm rivals Celtic in the race for the top-flight title.

However, there have been reasons to be optimistic about the future and the Ibrox boss is pleased with the progress made overall as January signings Todd Cantwell and Nicolas Raskin have left their mark on the side.

Beale said: “We’ve been working on something different behind the scenes in terms of the way we want to play and the energy we want on the pitch and a different shape.

“We just have to find the moment because we’re in the middle of a busy schedule. We won 3-1 at the weekend and were 3-0 up at half-time. [on Wednesday night] We scored four goals and we have a big cup quarter-final ahead of us.

“Although we are working on other things behind the scenes, what we are doing at the moment is very good anyway.

“That’s seven away wins in a row. That is not easy. As a team we can only try to get better and better.

“Sometimes I’m a little amused by the belief that it’s not there because when they actually play, I know they can look like a very good team.”
