Megan Thee Stallion opens up to Dua Lipa about being labeled “aggressive”.

Megan Thee Stallion has spoken openly about being called “aggressive”.

The rapper – real name Megan Pete – was seen on Dua Lipa At your service Podcast and the two discussed the backlash she was experiencing after speaking out for the Protect Black Women movement.

“[Black women] are so written off as a group of super strong people, rarely do people check on us, rarely do people treat us like we’re soft,” explained Megan Thee Stallion.

In July 2020, the rapper was allegedly shot dead at a party, prompting a spate of memes mocking the situation. She explained that “people didn’t make a big deal” because they “thinked I was strong.”

“They didn’t treat me like I was just a fragile being like they would other women,” she said.

Since then, she says, she’s tried to do everything in her power to use her platform to “say how.” [Black women] must be protected, respected and loved”.

However, she added that once she started sharing this, her comments were met with mixed reactions.

“It became something that people found controversial,” she said.

“I can’t believe you all would even take what I’m saying as something aggressive. But because I’m a black woman and I’m demanding, I’m ‘aggressive,'” the rapper added.

She concluded, “The fact that I’m asking for my respect and protection shouldn’t scare people.”

Megan Thee Stallion and Dua Lipa have just released a new collaborative single “Sweetest Pie”.
