Medal of Honor recipient visits Indiana Tech

FORT WAYNE, Indiana (WANE) — Indiana Tech welcomed one of just 65 living Congressional Medal of Honor recipients Tuesday to share stories from his life.

Sergeant Allen Lynch received his Medal of Honor in 1970 for his service in the US Army during the Vietnam War.

Lynch also wrote a 2019 biography entitled Zero to Hero: From Bullied Kid to Warrior chronicling his life experiences.

“A year after I was discharged from the Army, I was told I would receive the Medal of Honor and it was the day before I got married,” Lynch said.

Lynch’s speech was held at the Snyder Academic Center on Indiana Tech’s campus. Medal of Honor recipient visits Indiana Tech
