Mark Wright reveals £30k disaster at mega mansion he shares with Michelle Keegan

MARK Wright and Michelle Keegan ran into a very expensive problem at their dream Essex mansion.

The couple’s forever home is now fully completed and features a luxurious outdoor pool and decking area, an indoor gym and sauna, and a huge paved driveway.

However, the £30,000 trees that line the property line have all died, leaving the couple in need of replacement and temporarily exposed to prying eyes.

Mark explained on Heart radio yesterday: “It’s that kind of weather outside that you start thinking about planting your spring/summer plants. I had a little nightmare, I won’t lie.

“I planted some trees in my garden and they all died and it’s devastating because I’ve spent so long watching them and thinking ‘please grow’.

“They were my boundary trees to give me some privacy and the company blamed the soil because obviously the wrong soil can cause your plants to spoil.

“[I] In the end I found out they had recommended me the wrong plants and that was because they shouldn’t be left outside when the temperature was below minus five and at Christmas time it was minus 15 when it snowed.”

The couple originally hoped to build a 7-foot (2.1 m) wall and install electric gates on the home, but were told not to block the public footpath.

However, the local parish council stated in a letter of objection: “The design of the high walls together with the pillars and gates does not correspond to the rural environment and would detract from the rural character of this particular community.”

Instead, Mark and Michelle hired a team of landscapers to plant dozens of laurel and conifer trees to create a green barrier for people looking into their new property.

Last month, the couple finally completed their sprawling driveway and shared the good news with their fans.

The couple, who married more than seven years ago, have been keeping fans updated on their home renovations on their social media.
