Man shot dead in Zion, police said

ZION, Illinois — A 25-year-old man was found dead from gunshot wounds by Zion police officers Saturday morning.
Police said they were called to the 2900 block of Gabriel Avenue around 7:14 a.m. for a report of an unresponsive person lying on the ground in a driveway off an alley. When officers arrived, they found a 25-year-old Zion man lying dead in the driveway.
The man died from gunshot wounds, police said.
The man’s identity is being withheld pending proper notification of the family.
The Lake County Major Crime Task Force is continuing to investigate this incident.
