Man accused of sexually assaulting Lane Tech student

CHICAGO — A man has been charged with criminal sexual assault and sexual abuse for molesting a Lane Tech student on a CTA bus Thursday afternoon.

Emanuel Ortega-Garcia, 32, followed a 16-year-old schoolgirl to a local Wendy’s after molesting her on the bus. The student texted a friend nearby asking for help as she entered the restaurant.

The school assistant and school security stormed into Wendy’s and held the man until police arrived.

The man was subsequently arrested and charged with criminal sexual assault and serious criminal sexual abuse.

He is scheduled to appear in court again on Friday.
