Mac McClung Wins NBA Slam Dunk Contest With Viral Finishes

Mac McClung has only played in two NBA games but he is now one of the most popular basketball players in the world.
The 24-year-old found fame for his insane jumps while still in high school, and he showed them – and some – to win the 2023 NBA Slam Dunk Contest.
He scored 999 out of a possible 1,000 points.
McClung signed a two-way deal with the Philadelphia 76ers earlier this week to attend, and he didn’t disappoint.

On his first dunk, he vaulted over two people, backboard tapped the ball and finished with a two-handed slam behind the head.
That was just a foretaste of what was to follow. His second dunk was a two-handed 360 reverse windmill. Read that again (that was the dunk that kind of got a 49).
Those two dunks got him into the finals against Trey Murphy III, and honestly it wasn’t a contest.
He double-pumped his first dunk of the championship round.
To achieve victory, he channeled his inner Tony Hawk and pulled off a 540 while rocking his high school jersey.
McClung played one game with the Chicago Bulls and another with the Los Angeles Lakers – he spent his college years at both Georgetown and Texas Tech.

Who knows if this will translate into legitimate playing time with the Sixers, but can you blame anyone for buying tickets just to see them dip in during the pregame warm-up?
