League of Legends 13.7 patch weakens fan-favorite champions

LEAGUE of Legends gets regular updates, roughly once a month, and the latest patch brings some big changes.
Ahead of the 2023 Mid-Season International competition, League of Legends wants to ensure the meta is in good shape for competitive play.

Because of this, they’ve made some pretty big nerfs to some popular champions, particularly jungle champions, which have already seen big changes over the last month.
Here are the biggest changes in League of Legends Patch 13.7.
LoL 13.7: Jungle nerfs
In order to make the jungle less dominant in the long run, League of Legends introduces some nerfs for champions that mainly act in the jungle role.
Vi, Sejuani, and Lee Sin are all getting nerfs, and a bunch of other champions like Wukong are getting minor tweaks to balance them out.
Vi in particular is undergoing major changes, with a drop in her base damage on two of her abilities, Vault Breaker and Relentless Force.
She’s been one of the most popular picks in competitive League of Legends lately, as she’s quite strong but still deals a lot of damage.
LoL 13.7: Champions nerfed
In addition to the champions listed above receiving nerfs to jungle champions, a few other champions have also been slightly retired.
Here is the full list:
- annie
- Lee Sin
- Olaf
- rammus
- Sejuani
- threshing
- Veigar
- VI
- wukong
- Zeri
Most of these changes are fairly small, with the champions most affected being the jungle champions mentioned above.
However, most champions that get nerfed are champions that are currently dominating in a way they weren’t intended to, so they’ve been scaled back.
LoL 13.7: Champions improved
Alongside the nerfs, some champions that have fallen behind over the past few months and years have also been buffed to make them stronger.
Here is the complete list of all buffed champions:
- Alistar
- Azir
- graves
- Kalista
- Katarina
- Kha’Zix
- Jasuo
Pretty much all of these buffs are the result of nerfs in previous patches, and many of these champions didn’t fare well.
Riot Games has also said that future patches will include more buffs aimed at champions that the company wants to see well in the pro leagues.

The 13.7 patch also ends support for all 32-bit clients, meaning players on older computers may not be able to play.
