Southampton vs Man City: what was said?

Southampton coach Ralph Hasenhuttl: “Every game (we lost) was missing something else, but the fact is that we didn’t play at our highest level in all three games.

“The question should rather be why we didn’t do it and then ‘What can we do to make it happen again?’

“It’s not like you’re talking about a car that you put a different fuel in and suddenly it’s running better, you have to find the missing margins and then learn to get back to that level that we had.

“It’s something (we’re facing) from the Premier League every week, that’s clear.

“We’ve had games where we couldn’t find our rhythm or where we were otherwise stopped to kill our rhythm. But Sunday will be a completely different game against a very good team.

“We’ve had games against them where we’ve had 50 per cent possession, which is excellent, but we’ve also had games where we’ve had 28 per cent and taken a point, so anything is possible.

“We’ve shown in those two games (against City) this season that we can draw against them, but on Sunday we have to win.

“We both had a week to prepare for this game and had some experience playing each other.

“Hopefully we can find some good solutions for the game because we all know that when you play against one of the best teams in the world you have to do a very good job and we absolutely believe we can do it.”
