Lancaster man accused of laser irradiating driver during traffic dispute – Orange County Register

A Lancaster man was cited after the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department said he aimed a laser at another driver during a street rage confrontation in Phelan on Saturday, Oct. 8.

The dispute occurred just after midnight on Highway 138, west of Highway 2, lawmakers said.

The victim was driving on 138 with the 46-year-old man behind him, a press release said. He passed her and, obviously unhappy with her speed, showed her his brake lights. That prompted the woman to flash her high beams, the press release said. The man then aimed a green laser at the woman, temporarily blinding her.

That prompted the woman to drive into his car, the press release said.

MPs seized the laser and cited him on suspicion of wielding a weapon.
