La Habra has a good time this weekend with the annual Corn Festival, a community tradition for more than 70 years.
The three-day festival, held slightly later this year due to a late-summer scheduling conflict, drew residents and visitors to El Centro Lions Park for carnival rides, a Saturday morning parade, family activities, competitions and the eating of thousands of ears of corn — and many other goodies .
The event is a fundraiser by the La Habra Host Lions and helps support their community service efforts.
Activities will continue on Sunday and will include an afternoon of entertainment and bands beginning with ballet folklore at 12pm, followed by Mexican singer-songwriter Angelica Montano at 2pm and Timba Tumbao at 3:30pm. At 6:30 Suave the Band takes the stage to end the night.
