KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) – The Kalamazoo Farmers Market held its first vegan market on Sunday.
“It’s great for college students who are really interested in plant-based options,” said Kara Cox.
Local vendors shared their plant-based foods and homemade goods with those who stopped by. Organizations and companies were also there to exchange views on health, sustainability and animal welfare.
Vegan or not, everyone enjoyed the market.
“I’m not vegan, but it’s really nice to have more vegan foods as our world and climate are changing,” said Maria Sanchez.
The Kalamazoo Farmers Market plans to add the event back to its calendar soon.
